The Problem is NOT my weight...It IS my height!

Some of you may remember back to the incredibly romantic gift I received for Valentine's Day.

That's right: Wii Fit.

My husband the romantic.

And nothing says romance like fitness.

Or scales.

Which is pretty much what the Wii Fit board looks like.

I haven't been able to use my Wii Fit until yesterday.

I wanted to.

I was afraid to.

I just wanted to have it all to myself with out the kids interrupting.

Translation: I wanted to "weigh in" when no one was looking.

I tried to get started and quickly realized this thing was complicated and I would need help.

I. had. no. clue.

So I called to my four year old.

And he walked me through it.

Stop laughing.

"Step on Mom", he cried.

"It is going to weigh you and give you your BMI."

Smarty pants.

I thanked the heaven's that he could not read yet.

Calculating....

What?

Nope, not possible.

Wii Fit actually suggested I needed to add more calories to my diet.

Huh?

It also said I was slightly underweight.

Slightly.

Me?

Not. even. possible.

So I scrolled back through some of the data and found the problem.

My children had plugged in my height as 8' 2".

Close.

I am 5' 2".

So, only off by 3 feet.

Recalculating....

Okay.

Let's just say that I am no longer considered underweight.

And my Mii looks much fluffier.

That is funny! Your 8ft tall Mii must have been funny looking. I had my son and husband help set up mine and I made them close their eyes when it got to the weighing in portion. I just like to keep that information on a need to know basis and I see no reason for them to ever need to know.

You're better than me--I wouldn't have gone back to check and see what was wrong--I probably would have celebrated! Underweight? More calories? Woo-hoo!

Hope you do better with the wii than me! I went 73 days between workouts and the "trainer" actually chastised me. GRRR
I'm a little bit of a fluffy character too.

I probably would have celebrated with a bowl of chocolate ice cream- just doing what the wii said to do. . .

Oh that is hilarious!!! 8 feet tall! I love it! So is the Wii fit tons of fun? I'm wanting it kinda, but like you I'm a little afraid of it too. :)

Well, I was considering getting one of those, but now that I know you have to do that -
I'm re-considering.

Too funny! I almost peed my pants laughing the first time we weighed in and saw our Miis get fluffier. Now I am desperately waiting for my fluffy Mii to look like Austin's little skinny Mii.

Aw hon., I bet the 5'2 is sweeter though! I wouldn't know how to work the wii either...my excuse to not do it!

You'll get to love Wii Fit, it's so much fun and it doesn't even seem like a workout...give it a chance! :)

I love my Wii but since I became pregnant I refuse to step on that scale and have my person fluff out on me!!!

LOL! I would've been jumping for joy! But then I would probably think that something was wrong with it and take it back! lol 8'2" dang you're tall! ;) And I HATE how they fluff out your Mii! So depressing!

It's so charming that the mii changes proportion right before your eyes, right? Thanks for the laugh I have so missed your blog!

Stinking rude of the wii fit too isn't it?! Yes Mine always tells me that I'm overweight and now I now what the problem is.... thanks for enlightening me! :)

I was desperate for the Wii Fit, but watching my husband break it in scared me from using it. When we have guests over, we usually end up playing something, and it would be just my luck to have my BMI flashing on the screen when we turned on the TV. Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to try.

ROFLMBO!!
Oh, Wendi! You are a funny girl. I was about to die when you said underweight b/c I have not seen you in a while so I thought maybe I needed your diet plan... apparently not so. ;o Maybe, I too, should ad 3' (8' 8") for my Mii. It may make me feel better about myself temporarily.
