Reason #479

Reason #479 for my absence last week.
It snowed.
.
I know many of you are thinking....big deal.
Who cares.
What is a little snow?
I live in NC.
We don't see much of the white stuff around here.
Remember it was 70 degrees on Christmas day.
Snow paralyzes us southerners.
We don't know how to get around in it.
Businesses shut down.
Schools close.
We aren't prepared with snow tires or snow suits.
They are never needed.
Even when the forecasters were predicting the eminent arrival of snow, I did not believe.
I laughed.
And the snow showed me.
I was paralyzed.
I couldn't go anywhere.
Businesses were closed.
The kids were out of school.
We played and drank hot chocolate.
And I am finally resurfacing.

Wow... you got a lot of snow. Your home looks like a picture on a christmas card. It surely is pretty but I am glad that I don't have to get around in it. I will just enjoy the pictures and stay warm here in CA.

Have a good day. Love, Lura

How nice to see some of the white stuff. We didn't get any here (even though they said we'd get 3-4inches). Needless to say, the kids were disappointed.
Great pictures.

Looks like you all had a wonderful time playing in the SNOW! My cousin lives in NC and she had picturs up also of them playing in the snow. I wouldn't mind it sometimes, but I am a complete Southern Girl...so definitely not a lot would be needed.

Lucky you! Could you send some up this way? My kiddos want it to snow here SO BAD!!! We had about 10 minutes of flurries and then some sleet this morning. Darn it! But they still closed the schools...talk about being paralyzed. I know exactly what you mean. :P

Looks like you guys have been having fun though!

So glad you guys got snow. That is so much fun to get unexpected snow and a snow day to boot.
We had a snow day today!

The same thing happens when it snows in Seattle! Nobody is prepared for it, roads don't get plowed, and all of life shuts down for a little while. It's kind of nice, unless you have somewhere you absolutely have to go, like the airport. :)
