Forget Chicken Soup, Bring on the Candy!

We are still experiencing the plague around here.

I am not sure when it will end.

I have not left my house but once since Thursday night.

I have no idea if my car will still start.

A sweet friend brought us some much needed Coke yesterday.

She pulled up, lovingly placed them on my back steps, and ran back to her car.

She didn't even take the time to retrieve the cash I left her in the door.

I think she was afraid she might catch it.

I would be scared too.

A few minutes later my doorbell rang.

I thought my friend changed her mind and was going to just chance it and visit.

No, it was another familiar face.

Nana.

And she was holding something in her outstretched hands.

Visions of chicken soup and homemade bread danced in my head.

I cracked the door.

Yes? I am not sure you want to come in, we have the plague."

Making her way in anyway she said, " Yes I heard that you have all been sick. I brought you a little something"

I waited with eager anticipation at what was in the bag.

She was kidding right?

Candy bars?

Maybe she misunderstood.

Maybe she missed the part about the vomit and uncontrollable diarrhea.

Maybe just maybe she knew something about the medicinal uses of candy bars.

And then she asked to use my bathroom.

What?

I would probably go to ANY bathroom in town except mine.

I can't even imagine the germs multiplying in there.

I came *this* close to telling her to just use the urinal on my front steps.

I behaved.

I opened the door to the bathroom and let her in.

I guess when she has the plague next week I will know exactly what to take her to make it better.

I am very sorry that you and your family are not feeling well. But with the plague and all you still have the humor. If you guys need some chicken soup I will be more than happy to leave it on the steps and run! :) Thanks for the laugh!

Ugg to the plague. So sorry you fell victim to it.

Save the candy- you'll feel better soon and will want it. Or save it for next Halloween and give it to the kids that aren't dressed up.

Oh, I see. What you call "the plague," we Hancocks affectionately refer to as "The Stomach Bug from Hell."

Do get better soon. B.R.A.T. (Like the Dr. says - if you need clarification, do let me know.) ;)

LOL, LOL, LOL!!! I love you, thank you for the laugh! We recived a bag of candy too, only it
was because ... "I didn't get the kids any candy for Valentines so I got some for them to have
tonight." Okay...I guess candy is good anytime especially if it is chocolate:-)

My advice: take the candy AND RUN!

P.S. We are on Week 6 of the plague.

I am so sorry that you have the plague at your house.

I will be praying for you to all get better.

I recommend that you not eat the candy for a while.... I think the coke and jello are a better idea.

Get well soon... I'm sending love

Oh no! Seriously wanted to use the bathroom, ugh. We had the plague here a month ago and when I was finally better I didn't even want to use our bathroom or clean it. lol! I'll take the candy though :-)

I'm sorry you all have been ill. What a funny thing to bring to sick people. maybe it will be a nice treat for when you are better!
We have had a strange illness round here.... tired TIRED tired people with coughs. For a couple of days the twins did nothing but sleep and I was having a hard time staying awake (I'd like to say this isn't normal for me, but that would be a lie) Em ran a low grade fever for a few hours but nothing else, just extreme tiredness. Robby was afflicted with it yesterday... been strange!
Wishing you health!
