ANOTHER OPEN LETTER!

I am really liking these "open letters".

It helps me get things off my chest.

Without losing my cool.

Or throwing a temper tantrum.

That... or I am just full of it.

It makes me feel better anyway.

I felt oh-so-much-better after writing to the dude on second base.

Try it.

You'll like it.

You may even feel 10 pounds lighter.

I said *feel* so don't get too excited.

Today I really needed to write an open letter.

Because I have no idea how to send it otherwise.

**********

Dear Mr. My- mother- never- taught- me- to -say- thank- you,

Hi. It is me. The short girl that was in front of you in the check-out line at the grocery store this morning. That's right, the friendly, bubbly, thoughtful girl with a small child. I was loading my groceries onto the conveyor belt when I noticed you behind me. I took one look at my cart over-flowing with enough groceries to feed a small country. Then I looked at yours. One 12 pack of Coke and a loaf of bread. I knew it would take a while to ring up $315.27 worth of groceries. I knew your two items would not. I offered for you to go ahead of me. I am nice like that. You looked surprised. I waited for a smile, a nod, a thank you. Nothing. You just moved passed me, my cart, and my child who was already beginning the whine-at-the-checkout-because-he wanted-candy-routine. You paid for your groceries. You left. No nod. No smile. No words of thanks.
Well, you are welcome Mr. My- mother- never- taught -me- to- say- thank -you! I hope you don't choke on your COKE SANDWICH!

Sincerely,

The lady you forgot to thank

Thanks for indulging me... I *feel* about 10 pounds lighter now!

love these open letters. they really are so very "freeing."

as for the not-exactly-thankful-coke drinker...i too hope you choke. a simple thank you or maybe even a simple nod would have been nice. your mama is out there, and she did teach you better.

it's the little things friend.

Dear Mrs. Friendly-thoughtful-bubbly-girl-
with-a-small-child...

The worst is when you let someone pull out in front of you in traffic and they don't do the little "wave"...

No, actually the worst is when you're trying to get out into traffic and someone slowly rolls by without looking at you or letting you pull out!

It makes some people give the finger...

Best,
Mr. I-give-the-finger-to-people-who-don't-let-me-pull-ahead-of-them

WOW! I'm shocked that happened in the South. Here, that wouldn't surprise me a bit. How sad! Too bad you don't have his address so you can mail this!

Okay, I'm hooked. On your open letters. This one was even better. This would have angered me as well. What the heck is wrong with people these days?! My children better ALWAYS say please and thank you. Always.

That was very nice of you! I love your "open letters" they crack me up, even if they aren't intended to!
I do have to agree with Soxy Pirate, that is the worst!

I just hate that! It is times like this that I have to remember to be Christ like, and not run these ungrateful people over with my shopping cart.

Ok, that was the best!!

You should have made it a teaching moment, and loudly began to tell Cole about how when people are nice what you are SUPPOSED to do is say THANK YOU! And how rude it is when people don't even nod, etc. etc.

Oh yeah, that would have been this obnoxious Mama! I so HATE that, and would have had no problem embarassing that woman. Cause really obviously she still needs a lesson from a mama! :)

I can't beleive this man grew up in the south!!! You should have taken a punch!

Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!!! Okay so yeah I was laughing while reading this...even outloud during parts...and then I got to the coke sandwich line and I lost it. HILARIOUS!

(You were part of my comment potpourri - along with all the other dried flowers and fake fruit...) Just wanted to let you know :)

I think I would have said "You're Welcome" really loud so he'd get the point. I really hate it when people have bad manners. (I'm sure his mamma taught him better than that.)
Loved the Coke Sandwich line. Hilarious!

I agree with Kristen and Duchess - a loud your welcome, or lesson to your little one would have been just perfect. I have officially added one more blog to my addiction. Thanks a lot Wendi!

I can't stand rude people like that!!! I feel the same way when I let someone pull in front of me in their car and I don't get a wave, or a nod... at least SOMETHING!

Makes you really not want to be nice anymore. It's people like this that are ruining the world!

Well Miss Friendly, bubbly,thoughtful etc......

The neat thing about your open letters is you voice what we all have thought...and then you save me the effort.

Thanks and keep on being nice to people even if you don't get thanked.... it pays off in the end....at least I hope it does.

I couldn't begin to count all the students I worried about, prayed about and did all I could all term to help them....only to have them write on their desk (or in my class text books)" Mrs.S______ is a witch" (only they spelled it with a "B") You know what....maybe I will write a letter too.

Where do people get off thinking that being rude is OK especially when someone has showed them some kindness.
