Strange Sights at the Fair

Our first stop at the fair was the Village of Yesteryear.

The stuff my kids had never seen or heard of.

Making apple cider.

Weaving yarn on a loom.

Welding at the Blacksmith shop.

Talking on a cellphone.

What?

Sight #1

Wait, how did that get in there?

Funniest moment of the day for me.

We were supposed to be transported back in time.

To a simpler life.

Where one made and grew their own things.

And this guy sporting his authentic "olden days" beard kinda ruined the moment for me with the cell phone.

Sight #2:

Claire, Cole and I boarded a roll-a-coaster.

The guy trying to strap us in for safety kept mumbling something to me.

I just kept looking away, trying to ignore him.

Upon closer inspection of my photos I realized why I couldn't make out what he was saying.

Half of his teeth were missing.

Or more.

What is it with fair workers and their lack of teeth?

Do they not offer a dental plan?

Do they live on cotton candy and soda?

Or do they know they always have this option open to them?

Sight #3:

Sight #4:

People watching was my favorite part of the day.

So many people to watch.

I snapped a photo of this cute couple on my way out of the fair.

I love how they had matching outfits.

Must have made it easier to find each other if they got separated.

I am going to have to remember this idea for my own family next year.

Think they will go for it?

Yeah....I didn't think so.

He must be from KY. You know the toothbrush was invented there?... If it had been from anywhere else it would have been called a teeth brush!

Matching outfits....classic.

And, no teeth...classic.

My hubby said after going to our fair that he has decided that he no longer wants to be a "carnie." Boy am I relieved!

Too bad the matching tie dyes didn't have teeth and were talking (mumbling) on their cell phones.

Chock that up to "It takes all kinds of people....."

I think that guy came into my work....I see several "toothless" a day. And no, you cannot understand anything they are saying. Lack of pronunciation!!

Hey didn't you know that Chet and I had matching airbrushed shirts? We love them, and wear them every chance we get!!!

(OK, hee hee, no we don't)

And yes, what is up with the teeth?

Ugh it grosses me out!

I have a friend that swears by the family's bright green t-shirts. I think they also have bright orange. For public outings with all of their kids.

If I hav more than one, I might just consider it, lol. But maybe something a little fore tasteful than the florescents.

You didn't know they had mobile phones back in the 1700's?? :)
