JUST READ THE BOX DUMMY!

Have you ever had something come across your desk that was life changing?

Have you ever found a tip in your inbox that made you sit up and think, "WOW!"

That happened to me yesterday.

I usually don't read forwarded emails.

I read this one.

I wanted to share it with you, my interpeeps.

I have been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember.

I love the product and its many uses.

Sometimes it can drive me nuts.

Like when I am trying to tear off a large sheet of the stuff and the whole darn roll comes out of the box.

Then you have to try and re-roll the foil back on the roll.

Let's face it.... it never goes back on easily.

Or very "prettily".

Pay attention, this is where the sharing comes in.

The email "tip" I received said to read the end of the Aluminum foil box.

Well, of course I did.

Don't tell me you are not already in your kitchen drawer digging out your box.

I know you are.

Right on the end it says, "Press here to lock end."

Are you kidding me?

All these years of fighting the AF roll and I could have just pressed and locked?

How long has this little locking tab been there?

I have some Aldi brand Aluminum Foil and Saran Wrap.

That means it is generic.

Guess what?

Press and lock tabs there too.

If you already knew this... simply close this window and step. away.

Don't make me feel dumber than I already feel.

If I have just shared with you the secret to a happier relationship with your food coverings:

Leave me a comment.

Please tell me I am not the only person that did not know about this.

Please tell me I have saved your life.

Or at the very least, made it easier.

They must have just recently put that lock thing there. I'm sure I would have noticed it waaaaay before this post.

Well seeing as how I am totally out of foil, I can't even get up to check.

Which is ok. I will continue to sit here wrapped up in my blanket, laptop in hand, and hang with you Wendi.

I admit, I did not know! Thank you for helping me to win the battle of the foil. That DOES drive me nuts!!

All I have to say is WOW! I very rarely use this stuff but will have to say that I knew it was there. But hey at least you have saved others from saying bad words about their foil!!

Okay Wendi, I will also admit that I have never seen the "press and lock tabs" you have spoken of. And yes, I ran to my kitchen drawer and had to look immediately. Who would have known? And like you, I use foil all the time. Duh....Anyway, thanks for the tip. Nice to know that many others were clueless also.

You're not alone - I also was not aware of the press & lock feature.

Thanks for sharing, I'm off to lock up my foil.

Ok, this is to funny. I can't believe I never saw that.
Now if you can only tell me how to get saran wrap out of the container without it getting all stuck together I will think you are a kitchen god!

I knew it was there, but does that mean I actually use it? And does it REALLY work?!

Oh my goodness..... I feel like a total failure!!! I tought foods/cooking for 11 of my 22 years of teaching home ec. and I never knew about the tabs on the end of the foil box. Think of the hundreds of students that I failed to educate properly.... oh dear..... Well I don't think I will come out of retirement and start teaching again but I will surely pass on your clever tip!

Are you kidding me??!!

I guess it just never occurred to me to read the side of the box....I thought it would say something like:

Directions: Open box. Tear. Close box.

:)

I stopped reading boxes and containers after the instructions on the shampoo bottle made me roll my eyes. Surely I was intuitive enough to use a product . . . guess I wasn't. I should read labels now.

Diet Coke Label: Pop top and guzzle. Ah, heaven!

Shut. Up.

Running to check it out!!!!
