Monday Mumblings

*Tropical Storm Hanna did finally make her presence known early Saturday morning.
She brought high winds and some rain.
She left lots of debris in my yard.
With Chase's help, we had it cleaned up in a few hours.
I noticed some of my neighbors have not attempted any clean-up efforts.
I am not sure why.
I wonder if they are waiting on the yard guy to do it...or if they will just hold out until the end of Hurricane season.

*My loss of Internet connection over the weekend only confirmed for me that I definitely have serious addiction issues.

*As if that addiction is not bad enough, I have fallen into another.
I am officially a twitterer.
I think they refer to them as tweets.
I kind of see myself as more of a twit!
I would like to thank McMommy for getting me hooked.

*Cole starts preschool today.
That is right.
5 days a week.
3 hours a day.
I am so excited sad I think I might cry.

*I start preschool today too.
Remember how I filled in for the music teacher last year?
Well, apparently I did a little too good of a job.
That or they were desperate.
I am going with the later.
Anyway, I will be howling singing with the children two mornings a week.
I will be creatively moving with them one day a week.
What happened to all the free time I was planning to have this year?
One word: Gone!
Note to self: Learn to say NO!

*After all that cleaning and preparing for Hanna, Hurricane COLE came through and left destruction and devastation in his path.
If you could only see my house this morning.
I may need to call FEMA.

*I had a headache all day yesterday.
I tried to nurse it with Tylenol.
That did nothing.
Then I tried Excedrin Migraine.
It worked.
But with the aid of lots of caffeine.
I have been up ALL night!
When you look at the time I left a comment on your blog...do not wonder.
Yes, it was THAT late!

Yippee! First to comment!

As always, you crack me up Wendi!
I love that you're teaching preschool! Is it the whole time Cole will be there or will you have a little free time?
You will be ok, I can promise.
4 days of preschool later (she only goes Tuesdays and Thursdays), I am doing FABULOUSLY! She was great from day one.
Is Cole going to be with you for the singing and creative movement?
Email me if you need ideas - I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but I was a Gymboree teacher for over a year before I hurt my back. When MH and I started going together, she was only 9 months old - I loved it so much that I jokingly asked the owner how I could be a teacher, and voila!

Sorry you were up all night - I am sucking down some serious caffeine right now due to an early wakeup call!

Have a great first day!

And don't forget to post pics, as if you would!

Awww...the last baby out the door? I can tell you are soooo sad!!!

Have fun with the singing.

Caffeine...I can't do it. Pregnant or not. I would be up with you!

I am sorry you had a headache...

I am glad Hannah didn't do much damage. Maybe your neighbors are really waiting until the season passes ;)

Your comment of "TU TU funny" on my Baller-bow-rina post was positively brilliant!

I am so glad you have a Hokie in the family, too ;)

Awww! That would be very sad for the last one to start school - no matter what grade. He'll always be the baby...

Sorry you weren't feeling well. Same here - up all night. But mine is due to sinus I'm sure.

Thankfully you had no real damage with the hurricane. We'll see what Ike has in store for us along the gulf coast this week...

Sorry you've had a headache - hopefully it's gone by now.

As for the free time...I was starting to get a little bogged down with too much going on but I found a solution - MOVE!

No one here knows me yet so I don't get drafted for everything.

Enjoy what quiet time you can find.

Wendi, I am dying to see some pictures. Didn't you just get a new camera? Hope Ike leaves you alone. I am catching up on the caffeine now, and on all the fabulous commments you left on my blog at 4 am!

I'm so glad that Hanna is out of your way!

Seriously. Excedrin Migraine is the best ever.

I saw the fruit of your late night commenting...very funny.

You'll totally rock the preschool music world.

Glad that Hannah and Cole are gone now. Sorry that they made a mess and caused you more work.... but glad that they only messed up your yard and not your home. I hope that they keep their friends away.

My daughter-in-law has migraines... they are awful. I hope that yours stays away.

Have fun with the preschool music. As you know I ran a preschool with my child development classes for 22 years. I loved music time. I just know the children will love you.

Before I taught CD, I taught preschool when David was small. I took him with me to work. Is that what you are doing with Cole? Will he be in the same class you are teaching music to?

Feel better. Love, Lura

I just did a random post too & may need to steal your "monday mumblings" title for next time. Glad you survived the storm!

Yeah, the weather people were talking about how bad Hurricane Cole was going to be! HA HA HA!

Good luck with preschool! I had no idea you were a music person too.
I think Hurricane Cole came through my house too. Oh, wait, it may have been Hurricane Austin.
Sorry about that nasty headache. Hope you are able to get some rest today.

I have been leaning towards Twitter lately but so far my willpower has held strong.

I have enough addiction to keep me busy right now.

Glad you all survived Hanna and Hurricaine Cole!!

Have fun at preschool!!

I want to see first day of school pictures for both you and Cole! :)

Sorry to hear about the headache. That is horrible. :( Glad you are feeling better though.

And remember this west coast girl is always up for a chat whether it be 11 PM your time or not! :)

Music teacher?? How fun is that!! We can't wait to hear all of your fun adventures! You will have them, and they will make you laugh!

Glad you are save from the hurricane- too scary!

I have a totally weird, random question... how do you do the cross out on your words but leave it so we can see it?.. they make me giggle every time! I have wanted to use that feature several times, but am not that savvy- please, do share!

teaching is the BEST... unless it involves instruments... and then it becomes a little more difficult to smile and say "good job"!!!

ha

good luck.

When I get those headaches... I take a couple of those PM's at night too-- I like my sleep (usually- unless I'm actually trying to catch up on some blogs...)

You have a little something from me on my blog!

Awwww so sad when the last one is out of the house.

But you'll be keeping busy with those pre schoolers and having a couple of laughs no doubt.

Glad to hear that the worst of the hurricane damage was Cole and not Hanna!

Wendi, I just knew it.

I just KNEW that you and Twitter would hit if off!!

I like to think of myself as a matchmaker...

And you and Twitterland are one fantastic couple!

I have no idea how the twitter thing works, but it looks like fun.

I too get some pretty ugly headaches, Excedrin Migraine works great, but it does keep me up all night too.

Awe . . . I feel for ya! And I totally get the whole addiction thing. Sadly.

I hope you are feeling much, much better!!!

And, as for Twitter. At least you aren't Plurking . . . not yet anyway. :)
